Headlight earth point?

Featured Replies

Can anyone point me to the right headlight(low beam) earth point? My right xenon bulb sometimes work, sometimes not. Usually if I switch on and off the lights it works again, but rather annoying anyhow.

This is a LHD 2003 Mk1 vRS.

The xenon bulb is connected to the control unit mounted on the back of the headlamp. There are earth points by the battery and I think under the screen wash bottle.

The issue might be the control unit rather than the earth.

A diagnostic scan may reveal issues with the control unit if there are any.

Have you fitted a good quality bulb to start with?

I bought a pair of OSRAM XENARC COOL BLUE INTENSE D2S. Not any no-name cheap stuff afaik.

Gonna re-check the fault code as I don't have it in my head, but when googling it last time there was a few suggestions about a possible bad earthing point.
