2008 pre face-lift vrs mods?

Featured Replies

Well lads, new to the forum.. was just wondering if anyone had any tasteful mods they want to share for a bit of inspiration.

You can fit a splitter to the front bumper, diffuser to the rear, mk5 gti side skirts are popular along with some side skirt extensions. Several people have removed their rear wiper also. Changing the interior around a little improves comfort and looks. I have a mk3 gearknob and custom gaiter fitted to my prefl. That also updates the look.

Thank you very much for your input its much appreciated, all I've done so far is HID's, tints and wind deflectors 🤣 the rear wiper delete is a good idea because to be honest mine has never worked... needs a new motor as far as I know because its getting power. Also MK3 gearnob does look alot better, same threads I assume? I still don't know about side skirts etc. I am slowly convincing myself to bite the bullet and buy them 😅 thanks again!

The gearknob is clamped onto the gearstick not threaded on. Simple to replace. But the mk3 one sits a little higher unless you drill the centre out a bit. Then it will sit lower. Rear wiper motor failure on these is quite a common issue. That's why lots delete them. As for side skirts it's strange that the vrs didn't come with them from factory. The really improve the side of the car.
