key stuck in drivers door!

Featured Replies

Great to find a really good Skoda forum site at last.

Can any kind peeps help out there? I have a couple of problems at the mo, all to do with doors and windows on my Octavia 's' reg GLS 1.6.

Firstly, I've had a problem with my front passenger window. Driving home one evening it just fell into the door! After taking off the panel I noticed that the window mechanism had come adrift due to the screws coming undone over time. I then noticed that one of the nylon 'runners' was damaged. At the moment, I've resorted to a bit of high tech diy to solve the problem (!), this being placing an anti-glass drop prop inside the door. Great in this hot weather I can tell you! Can anyone tell me how easy it easy to replace and if I have to replace the whole mechanism? Also where's a good supplier?

Secondly, I have a key stuck in my drivers door! It will not budge!!. I've had to resort to my spare key through other doors! The central locking still works ok but it seems like the drivers door electrics are not responding. Could it be a worn out 'actuator'? Anyone suffered rom the same fate out there? Suggestions would be grately received. many thanks to all who spare a few mo's pondering over these queries.

Welcome to Briskoda. :D There is a DIY guide here for replacing the window regulator mechanism. I can't help with your second query but hopefully someone will soon.

Thanks Emily but pretty sure it isn't (unless my wife's been telling porkies!). Regards Tony

It is just that it happened to me the other day in a multistory.

Enough said I think
