Trusted service places Sydney?

Featured Replies

Hi

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this request

I was just wondering if anyone living in the Sydney basin knew of any reputable Skoda approved service centre for me to service my Octavia at.  I am getting quiet worried with taking it to a Skoda dealer and them doing bugger all and worst stuffing up the car.  I've read some horror stories and don't want to be another one of them. If someone knows of a good mechanic that doesn't try to fleece you and is honest as well as use Skoda VW etc genuine parts and does there job  Please advise.

Thanks

I's +1 Pennant Hills Skoda... they've been an excellent experience all around, in spite of my problematic relationship with my 2022 Superb.

That said, i came upon this thread because i was looking for someone who could change the brakes and rotors on my car (52,000 kms) for less than the $4200 I was quoted by Skoda.

I checked with Jax Tyres and they can do it for $2000 (Bosch rotors and pads which is what comes with the car), but I am hoping i could be pointed to a an independent mechanic / skoda/vw specialist.

That does sound like a lot but it is several years since I needed that done (on a VW Alltrack) so I could be out of touch.

I use Alto and Pennant Hills since they are ones that sold it to me and I have been fairly happy with their service over 4 years.

We stopped using McCarrols Volksvagen in Waitara for our VW when it went out of warranty 2 years ago and have been very pleased with the service from the independent workshop Vision One Mechanical at 275 Peats Ferry Rd Hornsby (https://www.visionone.net.au/). I would probably do the same with the Skoda when it runs out of warranty in 2028. Vision One also have the advantage that I do not have to wait many weeks for a service appointment.

Yep, the car has a service pack until 2029 and I'd be happy to just give it to the Skoda Pennant Hills except for the $4200 bill. I reckon the parts needed would be quite a bit less than $1000 so it's a big jump! Unless there's some electronic sorcery involved, i don't see why there should be such a big premium.

I'll check out VisionOne tomorrow. They're only about 20mins from me. I was also going to call North Sydney Automotive and get a comparative quote. Thanks for the pointer!

I'm on a service plan so tied to using main dealers but not had any issues with Sydney City Skoda near the airport.
