Double din Radio issue

Featured Replies

Evening folks,

I have recently fitted a double din radio into my mk1. specific dimensions are 100mm x 178.1mm x 168mm. when fitting i noticed the radio cage didnt fill the full slot and once fitted there is a gap at the top, I have the trim fitted to cover the gap at the top when taking the factory radio out but the gap is below this. has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you rectify it? have shopped around for fascias but none look like they'd solve my issue. when comparing the dimensions of the head unit to others such as kenwood and pioneer (which i know fit) they are the same size so im unsure as to why mine doesn't fit.

Honestly, by the looks of it, that radio is less than the standardised Double DIN format. I've got a Kenwood Double DIN in my Fabia and it fits fine, only a facia like yours at the top.
