How much difference could a clogged condenser cause? Flies and dirt etc? Could it be only that which is the case of poor cooling?

Not sure if this would be the only reason but i guess it can contribute to poor cooling at some degree.

  • The key thing is the after evaporator temperature, 5.7°c with an outside air temp of 40°c is excellent, putting the fan on high increased it to 25°c confirming your thoughts that the system does not h

  • What J.R is getting at is if there is a sensor reading 10 degrees lower than it should be, the control module won’t know this is a bad reading and may output air significantly hotter than it needs to,

Yes if you have a drive mode button and put it onto individual you can set air con to normal or eco. Also the plug A on the condenser can be faulty from factory so there is and update for plug and sea

I did not yet checked live data but I will. One more symptom of the issue is when pressing the ac button I hear a small hissing noise like gas travelling through pipes while I’m inside the car.
I read that this is also an indication of low refrigerant. Can you confirm this? Is this something you also know as a low refrigerant symptom?

I confirm. I have just get a/c service and I had only 150 g of cooling gas. My a/c system should have 500g. Whistling noises in dashboard is symtopm of low cooling gas in system - as you said.

But my problem is larger. I have change condenser last summer and I have checked cooling gas at spring, it was full. Now after 4 months seems to be leak, 350 g of cooling gas was missing.

Another sympthom that I had was low metalic noises on idle when I accelerate, only with a/c on. It stops after last a/c services in winter. Someone has simmilar problem ?

I had noise from AC compressor area, I think it was too much gas! Regassed with correct amount and the noise disappeared.

well this concludes that at least part of the problem is a gas quantity in AC system for sure. Thanks for the info.

Hi @VAskodas ,
I've read the entire thread, but I'm not sure I understand how your issue was fixed. I have the exact same problem...
Many thanks

hello @Poshett the actual problem was low refrigerant level in the AC system. The symptom beside the not cold air was a hissing noise in the cabin generated every time i pressed the ac button. Finally I went to a skoda dealer and they refill the system and check for leaks. No leaks were found. Although they say if there is a small leak somewhere in the piping at the dashboard side it will be costly repair! I paid 92€ for this. The cost is depended on how much refrigerant they have to fill + the standard labor. Nevertheless, the AC is now ice cold as it should.

P.S: The refrigerant type of my '16 Skoda Octavia 3 TSI 1.4L is R134a. I thought it was the new r1234yf but it wasn't.

I hope your problem is the same and not worse.
