2024 Monte Carlo?

Featured Replies

My 2013 1.6 TDI Elegance Fabia a little tired and outdated so off to the stealership on Sunday to take a look at the Monte Carlo.

Anyone able to offer up any advice or tips prior to my visit. Also curious to know if anyone has mapped the 1.5 TSI unit that I’m interested in?

I’m a little unsure about the DSG aspect of that 1.5 unit as for me a manual gives the driver ultimate control and a sense of engagement with the car and overall driving experience but I have heard good things about it but it’ll take some getting used to I expect?

thanks in advance for any thoughts or suggestions.

Welcome. Yes people have now had 1.5 TSI ACT,s remapped.  Look in the Performance section. You are invalidating the manufactured warranty though.    The DSG is a semi automatic and you can. Manual change if you like.  Best drive ones and see if the 150 ps is not enough.

Many thanks. I’ll take a look in the performance section and see what I can glean there.

Four months ago I acquired a Scala Montecarlo 1.5 tsi dsg 7 with 150 horsepower. For me, the power is more than enough, the car runs... a lot! It is true that the DSG box provides relaxed driving and is aimed at achieving low fuel consumption (in my case, 6.1 l/100 km on average). But as soon as you step on the accelerator the car accelerates very strongly and leaves the rest behind. I liked the scala with manual transmission, I think I could feel the engine more powerful, but I was scared by the comments about the famous noises of manual gearboxes (which seem not to exist in automatic gearboxes). I don't regret buying it with DSG, at any time you can drive in automatic sport mode (slightly more revved engine and better response) or even in "pure" manual mode. Otherwise, delighted with the car, comfortable but efficient on the road. And great interior space! I hope my opinion helps you!

I have the 1.5 TSI in Octavia combi and it still pulls well for the size of the car so I imagine the fabia and scala feel quite quick. I'm not a fan of automatic gearboxes in general. Probably due to the very expensive repairs if needed. The dsg is a new generation compared to the auto boxes from years ago. Super smooth and quick up and down shifts and very economical.

Secured myself a 24 plate new build (April) 1.5 Monte Carlo today which arrived in the UK built with rear disk brakes which I much prefer over drums. I’m slightly confused over Škoda policy with the disk/drum fitment? I’m led to believe that they were not being specified as a build option and discontinued as of November last year? However I’m pleased to have secured the build I wanted. One question… my new car comes with the panoramic glass roof, anyone know if the arial is still on the roof with it being glass? All the photos I can find show no aerial.

Hi, Lovebucket!

Yes, the 2024 Skoda Monte Carlo comes with a panoramic roof, but honestly... I don't know where the antenna is, sorry.

Cheers! I think I found the answer on another thread. It’s located in the rear screen. I think it’ll look nicer without the antenna on the roof too!

As I wanted to find out on another thread the 1.5 comes with rear disk brakes as standard, I'm with you as regards preference.

It's the 1.0 that was offered with them as an upgrade option.

I believe that is correct. Exact detail is sketchy and even two dealerships I spoke to couldn’t be 100% certain but my belief is that if a 1.5 engine is specified then discs are standard on the rear wheels.

on another note I can find no info. On what type of usb sockets are fitted in the new Fabia’s. Anyone know please?
