Leasing fluid

Featured Replies

I just arrived in Italy after driving from Scandinavia with a few stops, so I am far from home on summer vacation.
After grocery shopping I found a large puddle below my 2018 Octavia 1.4 TSi LHD today after backing out of the parking spot.
Fluid is clear and without smell and doesn’t feel like oil. I can see it dripping now, even an hour after driving.
I took a snap of the place where the dripping comes from. It’s a little towards the center from the right front wheel - the car is Left hand drive. There are no warning lights active.
Could this be coolant, water or condensation from the AC? It is 33 degrees here sonAC is running at max as soon as we are in the car.

Pretty sure this should be aircon condensation and is normal.

Enjoy your holiday.

I'd guess air con condensation, as you say it's not oil.

Check your fluid levels and keep an eye on them.

AC drain is usually in that area, if all your levels under the bonnet are good then I wouldn't worry about it 👌

Thank you for the quick responses.
In the 6 years I had the car I have never seen anything like this, so I was going into a slight panic, thinking the holiday was going to be ruined with chasing repair shops and having no car to get around.
But I will call off the alarm and have a glass of cold wine. 😁

Like others have said, keep an eye on all your fluid levels.

But if its not oil and there's no colour/smell/taste, chances are it's just a/c condensation

Yes, agree with everyone else.  It will be condensate from the HVAC unit.  Check the coolant levels (when cold), brake fluid and oil too, but if they are all normal, you are all good.
