Combi Boot Release

Featured Replies

Hi, I have acquired a 2016 Superb and very happy with car apart from boot release.

I can only open boot by keeping finger on button on key fob. Should I be able to open boot via boot handle when car is unlocked?

Not sure if I have a faulty boot lock etc.

Thanks

On the assumption that the Superb tailgate operation is similar to the Octavia, yes the handle should release it when vehicle is unlocked.

Hi thanks for reply, replacement boot handle ordered. Lets see if it fixes the problem.

Is your Superb KESSY, or does it use a standard 3-button remote fob? If 3-button fob, does the handle release the tailgate when that button is pressed?

Yes normally the tailgate can be opened from the handle at the back. I would just check that the car is definitely fully unlocked, I seem to recall mine had the selectable option in the infotainment that the first key fob unlock press would only unlock the driver’s door, or both front doors, or all doors. Not sure where the tailgate figured in all that, but as a first step try pressing the unlock button on the key fob twice, see if the boot can then be opened from the handle.

Hi update, new boot handle / switch fitted and can now open boot without using key fob all the time. 🤓
