crank shaft sensor

Featured Replies

Hi all

I just had strange error on dash...let's start from the beginning....car sometimes feels like stooling under throutle (for split second)

Few weeks ago did the same (feelt like dropped power for half second) and then i had all lights on dash comming up.

Call AA and they diagnosed that crank shaft sensor is faulty.

Took car to the garage - they checked all - nothing. Soon as you switch car off and then start again all good (no warning lights)

other day the same story - lack of power for half second and all warning light on - did not swich car off - drove to garage ...they plug in car and all sorts of warning errors. switch car off and then back on ....nothing (no errors). They checked all parameters and all looks ok.

Any ideas as garage can see what is wrong and they told me that if it is crankshaft senson - car would not start.

Now i got the same errors at least onec at day.

maybe somebody had the same problem.

Thanks for help.

Good morning, welcome to the forum.

It would greatly help members if you say what engine you have - Petrol or Diesel - and preferably engine prefix ( 3 or 4 letter prefix of engine number)

Hi. In mine 2.0 CRLB i got the same. Sometimes just ones a week, last days almost every  day.

strange is if car start from cold up to 85 Celcius is ok, then is misfire and coil light, tpms and car goes to limp mode. Need to swith off for couple of times, then car is heated to 95 and is ok. After thath is car is cooled to 80 and lower is going the same, then  need to repeat procedure. Scan is showing crankshaft sensor problem, but no allways.

Any sugestions guys?
