Facelift boot side storage compartment

Featured Replies

Hi all, I picked up my Superb this week and was wondering if anyone know what this is for at the bottom of the side storage sections. Upon opening the storage the base is above this section, is something hiding behind it!?

The plastic cover comes off to reveal nothing!

You should have that on the other side too, the bottom is Velcro then what you do is put something in the boot which you want to stay where it is then box it in with those plastic things and it’ll stay.

Wont work for you as you’ve got a rubber floor so redundant basically

Ah I see, so there's nothing behind where that piece came off? Seems like a waste of space, on my old Octavia and the blue car above the side compartment goes down level with the boot floor.

The Canton Subwoofer is behind mine & the two of the plastic / velcro gadgets are stored behind the panel "mines a hatch BTW"

Nope nothing behind it, the gap is there so you can get your fingers in to remove it.

I can honestly say I’ve used used them other than seeing what they did

You can remove the compartment door if you want, just lift it up and it’ll be the same as in the picture but in mine I have high viz jackets I think

Mine came empty, no built-in warning triangle like the Octavia which is annoying as i need one for a Euro trip soon. I should've kept the one from the Octavia!

The warning triangle actually sits underneath the recess along the boot floor, not that they give you as standard 😞

Do you mean near the spare wheel? I've just bought one so need to stash it somewhere.

It seems the last owner stripped the car of everything, both umbrella's are missing 😪, left me a crappy road angel dashcam though 🤣

Yeah that’s it, kinda hard to explain. I believe the original ones were absolutely useless and fell over.

If you’ve bought a new one from dealers then it’ll be the updated version which doesn’t fall over as easily apparently.

Newer cars only had 1 umbrella as part of their scrimping phase, but yeah should deffo have 1 in drivers door, strange thing to nick

I just got the AA triangle from Amazon, £8, probably triple that from Skoda.

Mine does have the holes for the umbrella on both sides, at £30 each though I don't think i'll bother!

I use the boot stays all the time. I have a boot tidy thing from Lidl and it’s crammed-full of car related stuff; one of those stays stops it from moving around the boot space.

I also find them extremely useful.

THe hole for the umbrella you can use a mini-one of similar size.
