False Alarms

Featured Replies

Hi All, '64 plate 1.2TSI, circa 75k miles. In the last 6 weeks car has alarmed a few times for no obvious reason.  It is still on the original battery, which seems still up to scratch, as there is absolutely no problems starting.  Could there an alarm relay issue. Any suggestions, thanks.

Mike

The issue might well be the Original Battery in the Alarm / Siren.   Nothing to do with the 12 volt battery.

If you look for the threads using a search you will see where people have replaced the battery and not a complete unit.

Hi Ootohere, thanks for reply.

I had the alarm go off in the middle of the night twice. I suspected a spider or insect in the sensor grill. Got a vacuum cleaner and sucked the grill and hey presto no false alarms since.

Hi Edbostan,

Thanks for the tip, I've given the grill a good go with the vacuum, only time will tell.

Cheers

Mike
