Octavia 2024 update - First Edition or SE-L Estate

Featured Replies

I'm flummoxed by the standard equipment which is said to include "Electric sliding parcel shelf".

Other than in the list of equipment, I cannot find anything to suggest what is electric about it.  On my car collected today it is manually operated.

Does anyone actually have an electric parcel shelf, and if so how does it work?

Ah well.  Visited the dealer today, and one of the sales staff knew what it was.  An option in the infotainment system allows opening the boot lid to release the MANUAL sliding boot cover to its first stop.

It isn't even called this in the on-screen settings.  You have to find it under Car Symbol> Exterior> Opening and Closing> "Open luggage compartment cover automatically".

On the online manual it might be referred to in Roll-up luggage compartment cover / Settings / but the wording is obtuse.

The sliding cover is hardly a parcel shelf, unless for an empty box. Not like the hatchback car.

So it is not an "Electric sliding parcel shelf", it is an "Electrically released catch allowing partial mechanical sliding of the luggage compartment cover".

Thank Fellwalker - I came to the internet today to find out about the "Electric sliding parcel shelf" mentioned twice in both the April & August PDF brochures. I took delivery of my SE L estate on 3rd September and it looks just like any other VAG roller-blind parcel shelf. Will investigate settings next time I'm out.

Am very much enjoying the new car. Very happy that the Lane Keep assistant is so much less intrusive than it was on my 2021 Seat Leon. I am still going to turn it off every journey though; it's great that I can put a shortcut at the top of the massive screen - turns off in two "clicks".

Still hate adaptive cruise though - I would pay good money to have normal cruise... (Will probably invest in VCDS when they can do SFD unlocking).

Managed to find the setting and turned it on. Worked fine twice, then stopped.  Tried to go back in to change it but doesn't get to the Kessy screen pressing the <opening and closing> just changes from green to white! Next day I'm able to get in and turn "Open luggage compartment cover automatically" back on. Works twice, then - you've guessed - back round the houses again!

Anyone else got that issue?

Apparently you can add normal CC here

Thanks, I was aware, but VCDS enthusiasts seem to think that OBDEleven is very much inferior to VCDS.  I can't really comment as I have used neither, but unlocking SFD using a method approved of by VAG (eventually) seems preferable.

Still find this option works twice, then resets itself. Another gremlin?

Exactly the same for me. I've given up on it.
