Just placed an order for one

Featured Replies

Bit the bullet yesterday and have gone for a 2.0tdi 150 in bronx gold, with the driver assistance pack. I only wanted adaptive cruise but hey ho.

I know I said in another post that it looks like muddy mustard, but it’s growing on me.

One odd thing… you can’t have a heated windscreen with adaptive cruise, it’s one or the other!

Since I  drive with hand controls, the ACC is a must. I’m retired, so defrosting the screen isn’t that important to me.

Just got to sit back and wait till November now. Estimated delivery is 12 weeks to the port and another 4 to get through the paperwork etc.

According to the configurator, you can.

You just need to make sure you select the right combination of options...

Would be really interested to know if that's not actually an allowed combination when it comes to ordering...

Hmmm, that’s interesting.

The sales lady tried all sorts but computer said no.

As I said above, I’m not really bothered as I very rarely use the car early in the morning and am never in that much of a rush at any other time either.

Good news. Had an email from the dealer this morning.

Apparently, my car is at the port awaiting a ship!

All the early cars appear to have adaptive, predictive cruise as standard. At least my SE L has.

Is that a Mk2?
I’ve gone for the SE-L Mk2 and it appears to only come with standard cruise. The adaptive is an option in the driver assistance pack.

Mine, and it appears all early models, have predictive, adaptive cruise as standard. Mine had it listed on the order form as an extra but at zero cost.

I have a IV SE-L due for delivery in November so it’ll be interesting to see if mine comes with it.

As above early built models come with it as standard, our arrived yesterday and had it (SE-L)

Give the dealers a call and ask for stock cars if possible

Picked my SE L up today and it has it on, tow bar coming in 2 weeks.

Tow bars 2 you in Darlington £735 it’s a detachable

If the tenth digit of the VIN is an ‘R’ then you can’t yet have an aftermarket towbar fitted.

Well mine is and had the bar fitted last week no problems and coded to the vehicle

Mine has been fitted a few weeks back but the VAG coding hadn't been cracked at that point. Maybe it has now i'll have to call my fitter and check.

It is highly likely there will be problems…

Why? Mine has been fitted since about day 3 and no problems whatsoever. It's not fully coded but, as i've said before the fact the reverse sensors aren't isolated when towing matters not as I don't tend to reverse when towing and let's be honest, turning them off isn't exactly taxing. I've never heard so much tosh and so many wanting to hate on an upraded model of a car they actually own. I've had 4 mk1s and wouldn't go back for a gold pig.

So, the fact that when you put the car into reverse the rear parking sensors alarm constantly is (for most) a ‘problem’.

There are other hidden problems too, the incorrect operation of the braking and traction systems, alarm, rear fog light, sat nav etc. The constant on-dash warning lights.

As for it being ‘tosh’ that Skoda have released a car with towbar preparation as standard, but with no way to properly code one when fitted, I suspect puts you in the minority.

This is one of several clearly unready elements of the MkII that Skoda should have resolved prior to launch, all largely software / programming related. You may love your gold pig, but beyond the small group of owners here on Briskoda, the number of issues being reported elsewhere is growing quickly.

They don't 'alarm constantly' I turn them off. Everything else is as it should be.

Other than that my car is totally, yes TOTALLY without fault.

I can't feel aggrieved that others have problems when I don't.

You must be a real joy at parties.

I’m not advocating for either side of this argument discussion, but I’d suggest your statement should be “without visible fault”.

It may be that it doesn’t have any faults that you know of and there are faults you’re just not aware of, making both points of view expressed here ‘correct’.

I saw my first mkii parked up today and had almost walked past it before I realised what it was.  It's certainly lost some of its more distinctive design and is much blander...   I have to say I was quite disappointed with the styling now I've seen it in the flesh.  It sseems very jelly mould-ish on the basis of that first acquaintance.

Well, after a bit of delay, I finally get to collect my car on Thursday. And so, the excitement builds.
