Using a roof top tent in a 2024 Skoda karoq sport line

Featured Replies

Looking to put a roof top tent on my karoq just wondering if anyone has done this or put in a camping insert. Bear in mind I have a sportline so not sure how easy it is to completely remove the back seats or if this is even possible. TIA

What’s the maximum load capacity of the  Karoqs roof bars as I’d have thought that would be important.

i don’t think the Sportline rear seats are easily removable unlike the Varioflex seats which are designed to be removed.

It will be something daft like 75kg but that is for the vehicle in motion, braking, accelerating, cornering etc and is really concerned with the changes to the vehicles centre of gravity affecting the stability in extreme manœuvres.

The roof rails will take a static load many times the rating without any problem, a tent with solid floor, mattress and two people will be no problem at all.

Thank you guys and it’s a massive shame you can’t get the varioflex seats in the sportline. My dad had a normal karoq and it was a breeze to get the back seats out of.

Indeed - the inability to spec Varioflex in a Sportline was a consideration in my decision to go for an SE L.

Although I did recently have cause to look at the Configurator and see Varioflex is an option on SE L, rather than standard.
