Which gearbox?

Featured Replies

I'm looking at getting a 2022 1.5TSI ACT DSG Superb, does it have the DQ200 gearbox, or do the later ones have a different one? How do I find out?

Yes it has a DQ200 DSG.

No idea how you find out other than asking here, because that is what it has.

You could ask the seller who might not know.

Reg number or VIN may allow me to confirm.

Reg is AV71 LTZ. It's with an independent dealer so didn't think they would know too much about it.

Yes, your car has PR code 0EG which is defined as 'installation differentiation for transmission DQ200',

Transmission code is UYV (gearbox code within the DQ200 family).

Another DQ250, code PQS. 👍

is it a wet or dry clutch? trying to find out which oil i need for a service

  • Sponsor

Wet, I think; but I know precious little about DSGs.

@tomwoods  Let the Motorfactor or Supplier supply the correct oil for your 6 speed wet clutch DSG for your 2014 4x4 if it is a DQ250.

?

Are you doing your own service?

First one is a 1.5TSi etech so will be a DQ200

Second one is a 2.0TDi so will be DQ381.

For the Mk4 Superb.

1.5 = DQ200 7 speed dry clutch

2.0 = DQ381 7 speed wet clutch

PHEV = DQ400E 6 speed wet clutch and electric motor.

@Breezy_Pete should be able to confirm.

First one is a 1.5 TSI PHEV an iV so a DQ400-e DSG, 6 speed wet clutch. (oil and filter changes of the DSG @40,000 mile intervals.

the 2nd a

2.0 TDI so a DQ381 7 speed wet clutch DSG.

EDIT, Thanks @logiclee

Sorry my error thinking a PHEV and not a MHEV.

First reg is a DQ200, gearbox code WGS.

Second is a DQ381, code WFQ.

Lee wins the gold star for today.

The ever-present child in me wants to know if there's a WTF code anything...😁

Many thanks guys smile

Looks like i have to stick with diesels.

VW Skoda call the DSG for the e-tech a DQ200-e

@kannanni the idea of the Mild Hybrid and the DSG was to get the emissions but to keep using dQ200,s.

They are no more of a lottery than a DQ381` DSG is as far as longevity,

@Ootohere Goind by the reviews in here and also the rattle i have personaly heard on the Karoq I am no longer keen going anywhere near this gearbox to be honest.

Its a shame as i really liked the refined new 1.5 tsi evo2 engine.

Edited by kannanni

Given the premature failures of DQ381,s i would want an extended warranty covering a DSG, but that really needed to be 5 years purchased before first registered.

Have you driven a 1.5 TSI e-tech?

Edited by Ootohere

No I have not, there is one near me, might go for a test drive this week.
