Superb mk2 F/L xenon headlight fault

Featured Replies

Hi all I have a 2015 model superb elegance FL, I’m having problems with the drivers side xenon headlight. The bulb went a few months ago and as you know bumper off job to replace was done at a garage. After a few hours of fitting and it was working when I left the garage I went to start the car at night and the bulb did not turn on so took it back to garage and replaced bulb as they thought the new bulb was dodgy but the next day same thing happened so then we decided to replace the ballast module and same thing happened. All other lights work including the DRL only the main xenon beam will not work, the headlight has no sign of water ingress no cracks or issues looks brand new also just had wiring loom checked from car it’s fine. Now my question is does the FL xenon headlight require any sort of coding to work when replacing bulb or ballast module or could this be component protection issue or afs module causing errors any help before I buy a replacement headlight.
have read out of codes attached

Quite a few passive error codes, have you tried clearing those and driving the car with those lights on for a few miles?

Did the garage clear these codes and they reappeared?

Only left rear door warning shows as active, and "Electrical error in circuit" - with the Autel can you do testing of turn the light on via the scanner?

The scan tool does need to be fully up to date with its program for your (Europe?) model and year to avoid errors and get information and advice if part of the purchase package, if you borrowed the scanner do check it is fully up to date as many either don't realise or can't be bothered keeping up with all the updates.
