2.0 TSI 280KM Camshaft intake value

Featured Replies

Hi, Skoda Superb III 2015 2.0 TSI 280KM is the value "Camshaft adjustment intake bank 1: specified value = 15 " normal in this engine ? The engine runs unevenly at idle. Could this uneven running be caused by this shaft setting ?

Mostly likely its going to be the camshaft magnets, fairly easier to change and not that expensive.  They are known to start failing after a few years.

Workst case, Depending on mileage (usually around100,000+ miles)  it could need a exhaust camshaft replaced.

i have question regarding those magnets.

what are these two holes there for?

when i took it out, there was oil coming from the holes out and the center axis was like stuck - due to oil.

should the o-rings completely seal it, so no oil at all gets inside the magnet housing, or is oil inside normal?

thanks
