Dim LED strip

Featured Replies

Hey Skoda community.  My 2015 Octavia RS has a dim LED strip on the right side headlight fitting.  This is only cosmetic, obviously, so isn't worth the $2300 I've been quoted for a replacement light assembly (I wouldn't have thought I would have needed to replace the whole thing).  I thought LED lights were supposed to last longer than other bulbs, but I have never had to replace a bulb on this car.  I also saw in a forum discussion, somebody talking about LED strips dimming with other lights, but it sounded like this was intentional/controllable.  Is my dim LED an easy fix?  Am I being given the run-around by the workshop?  Someone also suggested I spray electrical spray lube on the contacts, and this might help.  Any suggestions?  It's really not worth $2300 for a new assembly, but it looks a little dumb.

Not sure if you are able to disassemble the led array and replace.  You'll have to either do some more extensive googling or try and disassemble yourself.

These are the led day running led in the headlight itself? Not separate right?   Sounds like they have worn out. Remember these would be running 100% of the time the car is.  You could remove both headlights and swap the faulty one onto the other connector, where the leds are presently working properly, to make sure it is not a wiring / voltage drop issue. I doubt it though.....
