Hi all.

 

This might seem like a weird question, but are all wiper arm spindles the same? Or does it differ from manufacturer? 

 

Only ask, as I am planning on doing a single wiper conversion and I am planning on using a Citroen ZX front arm.... but I was wondering will it fit onto the existing Skoda/VW spindles (where the bolt is)

As designed the Citroen ZX has twin front arms.

Highly unlikely for shaft diameter, taper or spline pitch to match, even between models - let alone different manufacturers.

The citroen ZX, BX and AX's were all single wiper at the front.

Why?

 

For aesthetic reasons?

 

For better visibility in rainy conditions?

 

Please say that you arent considering removing one of the wiper blades and putting a larger one on the other spindle because asking about spindle compatibility suggests that.

Yes for aesthetic reasons....

 

Was planning on removing the arms and using a Citroen ZX arm on the centre spindle..... that's why I was asking about if a Citroen arm would fit onto the Skoda spindle.

 

I know it's off centre.... 

 

I am looking at getting a kit, but as there are no Skoda ones on the market,  I'm looking at modifying a kit from a Punto or Corsa....

 

But for now just using what's there....
