a horrible noise coming from my Yeti...

Featured Replies

 Hello, new to the forum.

A horrible noise has been coming from my 2010 Yeti 1.2 for a week or so.

I have recorded a video

The car drives fine and there are not codes from OBD2, can someone please shed some light?

thanks

Victor

First thought was timing chain.

Also check to see if it's coming from the alternator. Engine off.

To the left of the oil filter, the drive belt runs the alternator, check pulley & check for movement.

Is the aircon still working correctly?

Does the noise change when its switched on and off?

Does the auxiliary drive belt oscillate back and forth?

yes the aircon works.

the noise is pretty consistent.

Not indicative of a fractured AC pulley shear plate then, the alternator pulley one way sprag clutch is still a possibility, you need to look and see if the belt is flailing.
