MK2 Bugs and annoyances

Featured Replies

Hi,

Had out MK2 for just over a week and a few small things with it are annoying along with a couple of hopefully just new care bugs.

First the drivers interior light has a few times just turned itself on while driving and when starting the car the heated steering wheel has turn itself on to the low heat setting a couple of times, only notice when the wheel gets hot.

We cannot find a way to stop the smartlink available notification when you turn on the car or remove suggested destinations you have already been to at the top of the map screen.

Only small things that hopefully a software update will fix them.

Anyone else got any thing they hope a software update will sort out.

?

Could you have set in error in Personal settings that the heated steering wheel will come on when there is a certain ambient temperature.

I had a MINI Countryman Hybrid loan car a few weeks ago and the regular driver had the Heated seats and heated steering set to come on when it was 10 Degrees C or lower.

I had to start the car on GUEST to not have these on automatically.

Not that I know but it was over 12defrees when it came in. I will have a look for a setting but some of the settings seem to be hidden in places you would not expect.

Have one since mid August and so far these are the few things that I hope could be fixed with software update:

- Easy switch Smart Link if it accidentally turns my wife's CarPlay first instead of my AndroidAuto. It's doable, but have to scroll through a lot of menus to do so.

-Better sync of personal settings with 2 keys. Occasionally, when I open the car with my key, the system will still think it's my wife and apply her personal settings (seat position etc). You can't change user until the ignition is on and by that time I'm completely crushing into the steering wheel (wife is short)

- First thing I do every time after starting the car is turn of lane assist and speed warning from the steering wheel's quick menu. the panel occasionally freezes when your smart link is connecting at the same time leaving the left side of the virtual cockpit unusable unless you turn the car off and on again.

- Front collision warning needs to be substantially less sensitive in my opinion.

Love the car otherwise and these are just few quirks that I'm sure can be polished out

The sensitivity was adjustable on the Mk1... assume it is on the Mk2 as well? Had to turn it down on my first Kodiaq (original model) because of too many false positives, but I don't think I had the same problems with my current one (facelift model) - I certainly don't remember changing the sensitivity but I might have done it automatically when I first got it.

Checked the assist options and by the looks of it, there's no way to adjust sensitivity though the menu.
