Would it be safe to install rims R16 7J ET46 on Scala 2022? Wheel manual doesn't have anything with offset larger than ET40.

Pretty sure there would be no issue. IIRC ET46 will stand out 6mm further from the suspension than ET40. Take a look at wheel website 'Will They Fit' and input original and proposed data. You should advise your insurance of the change.

Opposite way is it not, ET46 will be 6 mm closer to suspension strut than ET40.

Also standard wheel would be 6.5” so 7” wheel might make it even closer.

Yes, I've already checked. The inner rim will be 11.4mm closer to the suspension strut. I didn’t expect that even with ET40 R17 6.5J/205/50 wheels, the space in the wheel arch would be so tight, with little clearance between the rim and the suspension strut (~30mm). I’m just looking for some reassurance—has anyone else used these rims on their Scala? It would help me feel confident about purchasing them without needing to test-fit them first.

Why not just get ones with the correct offset and plenty clearance for rims and tyres?
