Buying parts is not easy

Featured Replies

Possibly a little niche to the Superb - original 2016 top engine was 280bhp EA888 Gen3. Then switched to 272bhp. Then FL moved to Gen4 engine, back to 280bhp. Discs for 4wd are 340mm front and 310mm rear.

The number of places that, despite putting my number plate in - either gives 272bhp as the option, or 300mm (rear disc size for fwd) or constantly refer to EA888 Gen3. Even if I put in the model, you don't get the options despite them asking for the year.

The only way I can get anywhere near consistency is just to put in (for engine) is that its a Mk Golf R or (for brakes) that its a Golf R Mk7. Makes looking for parts so much more tricky.

Maybe try using the chassis number instead?

PM me any lookups you want doing, with reg number or VIN.

I've found on pretty much any car there are always things listed that are not correct and it really saves a lot of wasted time and effort if you make sure you know exactly what you need before buying rather than trusting the system to bring parts up with the registration.

Haven't found the option in ECP, GSF, or any aftermarket part supplier yet...just number plate orcar type. Like I say - some get the car type right, but still list the wrong parts.

E.g. all Superb 3V 4x4 have 312mm rear brake discs, 300mm for the FWD cars. Yet despite agreeing that you are searching for a 4x4 car, they offer 300mm rear discs.

Cheers Pete - will do if I need to know specs just in case!

I have met the same trouble, good to bring it up 😉
