Which headlight have I got?!!

Featured Replies

Hi all

I did a oreviooist about going to France and Supulgrave kindly confirmed I would need deflectors so I got the Eurolites with the huge fold out guide and here’s where my problem lies. The guide shows that from 6/2010 (my 5J estate was registered 10/2010) there’s 2 different fitting positions, one for ‘standard headlights only’ and one for ‘projector & xenon only’. Mine LOOKS like a projector but has two separate H7 bulbs for main and dipped beams. Could anyone please confirm which so I stick them in the right place? 😊

Projectors have 1 bulb and a shutter for high beam

Usually back backed

If you got projectors (glass ball type thingies) you will have a switch somewhere deep inside the housing that removes the light flick to the left side and makes the headlights roe compliant. They are fairly hard to reach and they're easy to confuse with other sharp bits of metal but they're there!

Thanks all, I eventually used the stickers as-despite the kind photo supplied above, I couldn’t seem to find that switch, and the one I thought it may have been didn’t seem to move. At least I can have a proper look when I’m back for next time. Thanks all..

Mine were a bit stuck. If i remember right the drivers side was just a quick look with the phone camera away, while the passenger side took a bit of swearing and taking the bulb out eventually. Both are towards the passenger side and spring loaded
