Battery Drive issue

Featured Replies

Hope someone can help my Octavia IV suddenly stopped driving last week. I got the fault battery drive error, 4000rpm error and do not drive take to dealer. The AA came out and said it was a battery problem but he couldn’t diagnose so towed it to my nearest dealer. The dealer who have been terrible and said they won’t look at it for 4 weeks I’ve asked for a diagnostic report to be done so I could at least phone around and see if any other garages could fix as I’m a taxi driver so need my car but they don’t care and say I have to wait. I’ve searched and can’t find anyone who has had the same problem a few people who have had drive error problems have said it’s been a sensor but that’s on the enyacq. Any ideas of the problem I would be grateful. I stupidly thought if the battery didn’t work the petrol engine would still function but that’s not the case if the battery dies so does the car!!!!

I guess your insurance should help you with that. As for the problem, sadly can't help, first time I hear about such on Octavia.

@Si_Brk  Welcome.

Any reason you have not had Skoda UK onto things and a Courtesy or Hire car dropped off with you as your car is under warranty.

?

I take it you can not use the Loaner car for the Taxi Work.

Plenty have had the issue you have if you just look through the section.

Could you show at least one? Following this forum and other social media groups for 2 years, first time I see such problem described.

Try a search like briskoda Octavia MK4 iV battery . Or Superb iV battery.

Yes spoke to Škoda they took my details and said they would get in touch with the dealer but nothing has happened.

They have said they won’t give me a hire car as I use my car as a taxi I’ve told them I can’t use a hire car as a taxi and just need a car to get about but fell on deaf ears.

I’ve been going through the posts not sure if there’s anything exactly like mine I have read stuff about the 12v battery causing problems but if you could point me in the right direction that would be helpful if there’s anything you have noticed I would appreciate it.

@Si_Brk Why not tell the tale then and i will link a relevant thread when i am on a computer.

Have you had the car from new, has it been in for any Service Campaign Actions / Recalls?

How many miles has it done and what servicing has it had done, is it fixed / annual oil and filter with the engine.

Do you charge the car daily / nightly or more often?

Do you not have Taxi Insurance covering the vehicle needing to be off the road?
