Dash and radio clock are different times

Featured Replies

Good evening all

I have a 2015 Skoda Yeti 2.0

In the last week or so my dash clock has remained but my radio clock has just gone to 0:00 and stays at that ...does anyone know how to reset this to be re-synced with the dashboard clock ...

I've tried pressing and holding the on/off button ...I've also factory reset on the radio settings ...but nothing is helping

Thanks in advance

  • Why not try taking the fuse for the radio out, its in the engine bay fuse box no. 8 as I recall, for say 5 mins then remount, a reboot might work!

  • FIXED with a software download for free. Dubious at first but it works. Time now correct on unit as well as on matrix. This was on an Amundsen unit. After the download you need to extract the files as

Hi, welcome.

Sounds like you might have altered some menu display thing or it might be a system fault.

You might be best looking at and/or asking on the Yeti forum, saying what model type of radio/infotainment model you have (Bolero, Amundsen). - Škoda Yeti - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/170-škoda-yeti/

I don't think the dash clock is linked to the radio. The radio gets the time from the radio signal.

Hiya ...it is because whenever I've changed the clock with the MDF for the dash clock ...it has automatically changed the radio too ...so must be linked

Regards

I have the exact same problem on my Yeti. The dash time is correct. The clock on the radio restarts at 0:00 every time I start the engine. We did do a software update recently and I wonder if that could be the issue. Can a software update be rolled back?

From the 'Owner's Manual' of my wife's 2015 Fabia Mk3 - "The time can also be set in the Infotainment » operating instructions for Infotainment, chapter Device settings."

Just to add to this, My 65 plate Monte Carlo 4x4 started doing this on Monday and I did a quick search online which lead me to this post.

Then I have seen atleast 6 different posts from people all over Europe with Yeti’s and it has happened to them in the last week or so?

Very bizarre?

I have had mine plugged in today and a full diagnostic check carried out but no faults found.

Apparently one member in Sweden said even her Skoda dealer have no idea?

For what it is worth my car is a 65 plate 2.0 TDI SCR 4x4 and so is the other person.

Maybe a software problem then. If Skoda are aware then maybe there will be a new update.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have recently noticed my 2015 skoda yeti outdoor 2.0d has developed the same issue !! Infotainment clock will not change to the correct time as displayed in the mfd screen. Flicks between 12.00 and 12.28 now and then but usually sits at 0.00. Tried reset etc all to no avail … has been regularly serviced by main dealer who say they have not heard of this issue before and have no idea! It is a bolero unit ( no sat nav) I despair ! Any help will be gratefully received !

This is a complete stab in the dark but as PC and laptop computers get on in years they can exhibit a fault where they can't hold the time correctly and this creates all sorts of other problems. This often comes down to an expiring CMOS battery. This lurks on the motherboard (I believe) and keeps vital functions such as time running when the computer is powered down and even disconnected from its power source whether that is mains power or battery. A new battery (often a C3202 or similar - a couple of pounds) and all is well again. The trouble is until you experience the problem - or read the problem pages of a well known computer magazine for the technically challenged, such as me - you won't have heard of this battery or that it has a finite life. I'm wondering if there could be something similar happening with your unit - there is something, whether a small battery or somethng cleverer - that holds key data if the primary power source, the battery, is removed from the car and this has now reached end of life. After all the car is now getting on for 10 years old. It would do no harm to ask the main dealer or look for an independent specialist in car audio.

Why not try taking the fuse for the radio out, its in the engine bay fuse box no. 8 as I recall, for say 5 mins then remount, a reboot might work!

Thanks for your suggestions to date . If I take the fuse out for a while and reconnect the radio will I need a code to re start this bolero unit or will it just come on as before ?

AFAIK you will not need to 'code' it and I think it should retain all its settings, same as when you disconnect or replace the car 12v battery, it's the old computer 'turnin' it off 'n' on agen', marvellous fings 'puters, so clever (actually as thick as, no intelligence no matter what the marketing says).

Satnav Systems in Surbiton (KT6 7NL) can resolve the issue where the media unit clock doesn't sync with the car clock!

Too far away ...is it done with diagnostic ?? Or is there a simple way that your just not telling us ???

@SNS If you can really and reliably deal with Twa*tNavs and VW computer programs then perhaps you should make yourself formally know to the Briskoda site owners as you could pick up work beyond the ken and want of VWŠkoda Dealerships (not difficult I know).

The issue is caused by a fault in the Speedometer / Rev Counter cluster.
In some cases it can be recovered without the need for any hardware. In other cases, replacement hardware is required.
Either way, it requires specialist equipment and licences.

The cost from Satnav Systems is somewhere between £125 - £595 depending on the car and what is required.
These would be the best and worst case scenarios.
Alternatively, (some) Skoda dealers can resolve for around £1,600!!!

Is SNS poster the same as Satnav Systems Surbiton ? Also if Skoda main dealers can do it for around £1600 as stated why has no other posters such as myself been offered this fix by them ? As far as I have read on many posts on this subject non of the Skoda dealerships have even identified the problem let alone suggested a fix ? What Hardware may need changing?

Yes, SNS is short for Satnav Systems.

Most dealers wouldn’t get involved as it is a tricky job or they don’t know about it.

Also, if they wanted to resolve it, the cost of parts from them would be around £1,600 so most prefer to just say ‘no’ !

I am more than aware that main dealers know how to charge 😂 and can be extremely expensive. What I don’t understand is why non and I do mean non of the many Skoda dealers I have called and also those who many others with the same fault have contacted have not offered this repair ? Albeit it is allegedly far dearer than what presumably your company charges? To be fair Skoda have never shied away from giving quotes for work in my experience. Even when the price is far in excess of what an independent might charge . You do sound a fair bit cheaper … how do you know they charge £1600 ? If I could tell my Skoda dealer which of their dealerships told you this i would be able to get it repaired under my warranty so can you help and give me that detail please ?

How I wished I lived closer to SNS in surbiton as having had a look at there website can see what fantastic reviews they have ! However it would be a four hour drive each way . I just wish someone would be specific about which Skoda main agents  actually know how to repair the issue as I could use this info when my one says they have no idea and never even heard of this much discussed clock sync issue.
