Dash and radio clock are different times

How I wished I lived closer to SNS in surbiton as having had a look at there website can see what fantastic reviews they have ! However it would be a four hour drive each way . I just wish someone would be specific about which Skoda main agents  actually know how to repair the issue as I could use this info when my one says they have no idea and never even heard of this much discussed clock sync issue.

Unfortunately this is not a repair that can be done without access to the car.
Having said that, 4 hours is not that bad! It'll be a day out and you'll not only get the issue resolved but also save a small fortune!
Skoda dealers do not tend to 'repair' things like this. They can only replace major components which is why the cost is so high.

The £1,600 mentioned is just for the replacement part required, excluding any labour (and more importantly, know-how)!
SNS will be well worth the visit.
As you will have read on many of the Google etc reviews, there is a comfortable customer area with Wi-Fi and 'proper' coffee. Also, dog friendly with a park and high street within a 10 minute walk!

I think £1600 is a bit much to have the radio clock tell the right time. I can live with it.

I agree re the 1600! However I have a comprehensive warranty with Skoda and if SNS or anyone could be more specific about the repair then I could counter their “we don’t know what it is, never heard of that before “ and get it fixed under warranty. However just saying it’s a fault within the Speedo / rev counter head unit isn’t cutting the mustard with them . Disproving their know nothing excuse needs me to give them facts and at present I do not have enough detail. I take nothing away from SNS and their ability but as a pensioner with mobility issues I cannot do a four hour each way journey to SNS in Surbiton  . I need to get my Skoda dealer  to acknowledge the fault especially tlas SNS stated some of them do actually .. hope that all makes sense to someone.

You will never convince a Dealership of a truth that they can't be bothered and not prepared to accept that their staff need further training or allowed the time to properly and fully diagnosis the problem.  I might be wrong, I very often am, but I'd imagine even if more details are given of the issue resolve they'd not be enough for the Dealership as they don't really want to know and I very much doubt VWŠkoda in UK will give a wotsit either as the warranty probably isn't with them.

Perhaps other good garages, auto-electricians or diagnostic companies may also the resolve for this issues (without expensive parts replacement which Dealerships and some other garages, mechanics and auto-electricians specialise in) in your area.

This is a very minor issue, if it's just a radio clock time, I can assure you from decades of dealings with the UK motor trade they can mess you about and balls-up much more than this and make you suffer and pay for their mistakes, poor work, lack of training and attitude towards their customers.

The cost from Satnav Systems is somewhere between £125 - £595 depending on the car and what is required.
These would be the best and worst case scenarios.

Skoda dealers are not interested and can not resolve this issue.

Satnav Systems also work with and are recognised by most warranty companies in the UK and can help with making a claim.

Just to be clear - this issue is with a 2015 car on a Bolero without Tw*tNav under warranty.

I very, very much doubt this, you may have a warranty but how comprehensive it is is another matter.  If you have then the warranty provider needs to sort this, if it means going outside their normal channels for the expertise then that's what they'd need to do.  But have a very good read of your warranty documents.  If you have warranty cover for this issue then if you are with a car club or similar they may be able to offer help.  Depending on how the warranty was financed they may be able to offer help.  If you have legal cover with something they may be able to advise.

I can sort this issue, had it myself when I retrofitted a newer unit in my octavia

New title

2015 Skoda yeti Dash and radio clocks are different times..

I seem to have lost the plot on this thread … see several posts from Andrew about editing / new topic / new thread etc but not sure what all that means ? I was hoping for clarification from Eddie_NL who stated he knows how to sort out this annoying issue and has indeed done so himself. Am I in the right thread to see this reply or has it all changed and I should be looking at some new thread or other ?

  • Author

I've put a new thread on. Os I got told to do some editing on this so as to fit their (hopefully) way of getting it fixed ...the new thread has the heading

2015 Skoda yeti Dash and radio clocks are different times... ...with the first comment from me saying ...

2015 Skoda yeti Dash and radio clocks are different times....ONLY post if you have the fix solution please

  • Author

Thought it would be just easier ...doing a completely new / empty thread ...so their is loads of room to get a fix/ solution  from someone ...

PLEASE DONT POST IN IT ...UNLESS YOU HAVE THE SOLUTION TO FIXING THE PROBLEM

Andrew, sorry I didn't make myself clear as I'm not used to quick short posts that many like and when I do this is what happens.  I'm not angry at all, I was trying to give you some information that you can edit post but only after you have submitted so many from being a new member, the number I forget.  Three dots at top right of post gibes Edit, Report, Share.

Setting up what what you see I don't know as like you  I'm not into computers.

@MarchPaul if you want Eddie-NL to perhaps see your post you could do as I have done in this post and pat an  @ just before his member name.

I'll get me coat   .   .   .
