headlights Upgrade to LED

Suggestions on where can i find the materials and how to? ty

If the headlight reflectors are not designed for led you may find that what you propose is not legal - there is a serious risk of blinding oncoming traffic from excess light scatter. Have you checked?

No Yeti has headlights suitable for LED.
They are either Halogen or Bi-Xenon

No matter which is driving side of road, excessive light scatter is a serious hazard for oncoming traffic.

Correct me if im wrong, halogen emits yellow light and bi-xenon emits led-like light? ( White ), if i got halogen headlights could i switch the whole unit for some bi-xenon? ( I mean, recently i noticed that halogen produces a lot less light)

Halogen emit light at around 3000 to 3500k (white) - not yellow. AFAIK Bi-xenon, being HID, emit light at a frequency closer to 5000-6000k - which is further towards the blue end of the spectrum - so appears brighter.

Ok so how do i switch the headlights to bi-xenon? Is it possible?

Two choices:
1/ Buy some dubious Chinese HID bulbs and fit them in your standard headlights, but be prepared for wiring and other problems, such as continuous bulb failure system warnings. Plenty available on eBay.
2/ Find a scrap Yeti that was equipped originally with HIDs. Remove them and the complete wiring loom and retro fit those, after also reprogramming the BCU to show that they are fitted.
I'm not sure about Italy but in the UK you would also need to fit headlight washers and the suspension control system for the automatic levelling of the lights.

I think you can probably see where this is going ?

We looked into this with our previous 2015 Yeti with halogens. In the end we just got some better bulbs and accepted the standard headlights limitations. Our 2017's lights are definitely better (+30%??) and we could also upgrade the bulbs to give another 10%, but the (UK) passenger side is a fiddle to do so I'm not bothering.

Do Skoda selectively fit different, sub-standard halogens in different models?

I struggle to see how some drivers think modern halogens to be lacking. I find the standard ones fitted to both the Octavia and Fabia perfectly adequate in all driving conditions.

Yup i will probably just buy some modern halogen bulbs

What was the max wattage on the headlights?

Was that a Facelift Yeti or the earlier one with the Panda eye foglights?

I find the standard halogen units in my 2015 facelift or MK2 Yeti superb but that was coming from a MK1 Octavia which had light scatter from high mileage clear lenses and then a MK2 Octavia with the pathetic projector units, during that time my eyesight diminished and I lost the sight in my left eye.

The Yeti lights were a revelation but they were brand new units I bought for use in France, 4 years later they still seem very good despite my remaining eye seeing halos around any light source after cataract surgery with a multi-focal lens implant.

Are the post 2015 Yeti lights far better than the earlier ones? I ask because I am considering changing to an earlier vehicle, if the headlights are poor then its a deal breaker for me.

Best to have a look at one of the bulb web sites for choices (eg. Powerbulbs.co.uk) and then source in Italy? We had Osram upgrades on the Yeti, but they weren't at the extreme end where there can be drawbacks and life can be affected. Once fitted they were fine for the 4 years we had it.

Were they really good? like, better than stock?

The osrams are fine, and we've bought the Philips ones for our latest Yeti (but not fitted yet as lights are pretty good now). The Philips ones were highly rated when I looked into them.

5000k to 6000k for modern LED Skoda headlights.

Yeti Xenon's were 4300k from factory although many replacement Xenon bulbs available to 5000k and some "Blue" Xenons to 6000k
