2023 Octavia IV VRS Repeated Issues

Featured Replies

Hi i don't know if anyone out there has had similar experience who can help point me in the right direction.

I got the car just over a year ago and absolutely love most aspects of the car, about a month in it stopped accepting a charge via the cable so i booked it into my local garage (which takes a weekish as i need courtesy car as its a company car), over the week or so i was waiting i had some odd glitches in the systems but nothing major, then a day or so before i was due to take the car in to be looked at, it completely bricked over night, i couldn't even unlock it, AA turn up, the 12v battery is completely drained, he jumps it, everything starts up as normal he tells me to run the engine for 30 to 40 mins to put some charge into the battery, all good. Drive the car straight to Skoda as i have an appointment the next morning, tell them what's happened they take a look and obviously say there is nothing they can identify as an issue.

Last week into this week, exactly the same process repeated

  • Stops Accepting Charge 🔽
  • Weird But Not Serious Glitches (like not displaying album art)🔽
  • Bricks with totally trained battery 🔽
  • Jump from AA🔽
  • Fine🔽
  • Garage cant find anything wrong😡

Has anyone had anything that resembles this that I can suggest to the garage?

Obviously i would like this sorted whatever it as i fear the next time wont be on my drive.

Thanks for any pointers.

Yes, it is a common fault.

had it twice earlier this year and both time took the car to the dealership.
nothing could be done.

now every few days I got the 12v battery warning. Car going in for service next week and I am going to ask them for a report of all faults.

I have noticed that if I leave the keys in the house but too close to the car, the battery on the key fob keeps flashing so I am wondering if that drains the battery

I've had this a few times. Last one the dealership replaced 12v battery and hasn't happened since
