Emergency update on my MIB

Featured Replies

Hi im making a new post since i didnt get any type of luck on my other ones. I despreatly need help to find out how and where i can find out what version of software my mib unit is running. Currently the unit is stuck in Emergency Flash Unit where it only says to insert the media with the update data and a blue screen all around. Does anyone have any kind of idea what i could do since i cant get any information of the software thats currently installed and which one to upgrade to get my head unit back to working order.

My car is a 2014 Skoda Octavia RS 2.0 TSI 220 BHP. ive found out the part number of the head unit which is: 5E0 035 020 B

Hi, sorry for asking, we have the same issue with our Amundsen on Skoda Yeti 2015.

I have checked info on Skoda updating portal but there were no updates for our VIN (TMBME75L1F6061457).

How to fix the problem with Emergency Update on MIB?

Thanks for any help!

Peeps...be careful when you do MIB updates. It's not complicated If you know what you are doing. There are plenty of postings on how to do them. If you are trying to do a firmware update with inappropriate versions of firmware and you aren't sure what you are doing, *STOP* AND ASK FIRST. There is a section on Briskoda called Electronics, Security and Audio where hopefully your questions can be answered. You also need to know where the best place is for firmware for your device, as there are lots of hacked and inappropriate versions floating around the internet.

Emergency updates are usually caused by corrupt, incomplete or incorrect versions of firmware.

Ive been having this issue since. Only update i ever did on my unit is the original one from the skoda website. I did the bluetooth update and nothing more. After that its been working fine and suddenly one day it went blue screen

That's weird! We have done no updates at all and suddenly it showed that it doesn't matter if the car is on or off. Annoyingly is nothing working during Christmastime... I was hoping that it just needs some update from the portal and I will be able to fix it but now I am not sure...

@varaderoguythank you...i will have a look.

Generally, Skoda only release map updates on their website - almost never firmware updates.  I cannot see how a map update would bork your system.  Maybe something more problematic.  You might want to go and ask the folks in the Yeti section of Briskoda if they've seen this issue before - or in the Security, Electronics and Audio section.
