Steering Wheel Controls, Clock Spring or Control Module?

Featured Replies

Hi all, driving to work tonight and went to make a phone call but found no response to the pushing the left roller for voice command, thinking my phone may have been disconnected for some reason i pressed the phone button, again no response, checking further i found that i could scroll with the scroll wheels but got no response to any pushbutton controls.

I've had no airbag lights or faults flagged, though i can't run a scan until im home tomorrow.

Been trying to read up, but can't seem to find an answer one way or another, i did find one thread where a chap had identical issues to me, frustratingly he never said if he worked out the issue or not and doesnt appear to have visited the forum since 2020.

I can't imagine its related simply due to the timeframe, but years ago i did have a phone call "Freeze" where i had to hang up on my phone as the car controls were nonresponsive, turning the ignition on and off again cleared this however.

Thanks for any advice on the matter.
Tony.

Clock spring.

My did the same in the summer, but i fixed it with contact spray in all the buttons. Removed them from the wheel and took them apart, still working.
