2025 Map update

Featured Replies

I have been trying to get the 2025 map update for my Skoda, from the Skoda update portal. Have managed to download the zipped file but when extracting it to an SD Card it only reaches 10% then get error and unable to complete wondering if anyone else is have the same problems, for the Columbus infotainment system.

i haven't downloaded the latest version yet, however looking at the latest RoW version, its only 16GB!!
that is significantly smaller that wat it has been normally over the years!!

maybe they forgot to include a bunch of files, hence why its failing to update.

I just downloaded HIGH2_P390_EU_202445 from the Škoda portal. Had no problem with the download or the migration to a 32 Gb SD card.

I don't know if that's the latest version out in the wild, however.

P393 is the latest version just released.

Hi think you could be absolutely right I've just been on the Skoda update portal and seen the same only 15gb download when its normally about 26gb, why would they put the download there if it doesn't work. now thinking of getting a TOM TOM.

Thanks all but if you go on the Skoda update portal site you will find the zipped download to be 15gb which is normally about 26gb in previous years.

Thank you all for the comments this forum has certainly helped me with several things.

@Robbo12 - i'm having the same issues with the latest P393 maps.  It gets an error, saying the update was interrupted, remove and re-insert the SD-card, and does a restart after 60 secs.

initial update progress got up to 57% before the error popped up.

second time round it got to 5%!

i had downloaded the maps from the Skoda Update portal.

looks like the MIB2 units r not liking wat they've done to the latest packaging for the map update!

Glad to hear that I am not alone with my problems with the ECE 2025 Map Version for the EU. I had no problems downloading the "HIGH2_P390_EU_202445" zip folder. The problem started when extracting all files - there was one after the other "Unspecified error 0x80004005". I tried using the "Skip" function to complete the extraction and then transferred the result to an SD Card but when I inserted it into my Superb the system told me that it could not find any update source! P.S. I was also surprised when I saw on the "Update Portal" page that the new version was only 15,00GB!? I emailed Skoda and they asked for a screenshot - 2 days passed, no response - so I sent them another email today to be told that they will send it to their experts - we'll see! It looks like one Skoda case which is not "Simply Clever"!? 😉

That is the latest version available - to complete the story - did you put your SD Card into your car and did it update successfully to ECE 2025? 🤔

Well, the update in the Columbus ICE was up to 81% when I switched the car off and left it to itself. I'll let you know next time I'm in the car.

JR RS a few posts back says that P393 is the latest version, but I got my download from the Škoda portal

I'm thinking that since JR RS is from Australia, P393 is the Australian version of the latest 2025 update - for us Europeans P930 is the latest version.

Many thanks for that i had exactly the same problems as you have described Zip download only 15 GB .. Don't think I will be wasting any more money on the map updates.

@freelunch @Nitrama26 - I got mine from the Skoda Update Portal.

It's the Rest of the World (RoW) version.

There was no issue with extracting the P393 zip file.

The issue was the Columbus not liking the update.

When I initiate the update....

After a while, this error comes up (excuse the finger prints)....

Then it gives this message saying it needs to restart in order to restore itself......

I currently have map version P373.....

The update installed without issue. However, cold weather really affects the responsiveness of the unit. Had to do two hard restarts to get the thing running properly again.

Now I just have to go somewhere...

I've had a strange experience in that a .psf file relating to Finland results in an error when unzipping. Does anyone know if this will this prevent the update from working?

I get the same error with Finland psf file around 10% if I ignore it then I get a few more extracting errors related to some image files around the 90-95% extraction completion. Bit risky for me to try when I am getting around 10 files that won't extract properly, but I have messaged Skoda to see if they can look into it.

Tried using a couple of different zip programs but exactly the same results with this file HIGH2_P390_EU_202445.

@MartiniB are the links below you posted on another thread to VW exactly the same file we download from the Skoda portal?

@100andthirty

The Finland.psf file is the first - of many - "unexpected error 0x80004005". I tried skipping all such errors and installing the resulting update on my Columbus system - the system told me that it could not find any update source! I have alerted Skoda of the problem via email and via facebook messenger - up to now no real help but if we all complain to Skoda we stand a better chance of getting the obvious problem resolved!

I've had the same continued problems and the zipped folder is only 15GB so something is missing.. Think Skoda portal need to sort things out..

@100andthirty

Please don't keep us in suspense - did the VW update successfully update your Columbus to ECE 2025? 🤔

Works like a charm!

Think i will get a TOM TOM,,  the Skoda update portal is so unreliable, Obviously  problems with the contents of the15GB Zipped file, why would it tell you to use a 64GB SD Card when it's 15GB It's a joke and a waste of money to receive the updates.

Anyone have contact details for the Skoda map updaters.
