Conked Columbus

Featured Replies

The Columbus unit in my Superb Elegance 2012 has no sound and the screen language has changed to German. If I try to change it to English it tells me (in German) that it's loading, but it just hangs and does nothing.

My local 'expert' thinks it's  sh***ed and advises replacement. Two queries: 1) are these known symptoms and is there a cure? 2) I can see used units forsale on Ebay. My unit's model no. is 3TO035680E. There are a few units  for sale on eBay with the same model number but a different final letter, A B C or D, though they all come from Superbs.  Is this final letter significant?

@pab567 do you know about these units ?

This is the problem of overfilled NAND.

1) yes, try to reflash it with 5238, you have link on PM (you will need to load maps after reflash)

2) not so much, generally "lowe" letter means older unit

Thanks a lot pab. Alas this solution is way beyond my abilities so I shall have to(a) find someone who can perform the fix for me. Or (b) just get a replacement unit, and try to flog the faulty one. Either way I'm grateful for your steer.

Hello guys,

The Columbus radio in my 2012 superb is turning on and off in a loop, I know this is covered a lot but it’s all about my head!

I don’t have a computer with disc drive to burn software or the knowledge anyway!
Is there some where I can buy this from?

Or is there a reasonable priced android unit that is a direct replacement if I have to buy a head unit?

thanks.

I'm looking at used ex Superb units. There are a few on eBay, around £150 upwards.

Yeah I seen them on eBay, just thought if I could have bought a update disc or if I had to spent the money maybe an android might be an option as well
