Adding Multifunctional Steering Wheel

Featured Replies

I recently replaced the old steering wheel in my Skoda Fabia MK2 2012 with a multifunctional steering wheel and noticed Id be needing a new airbag harness which has a cable for the media buttons.

I found one online which looked like it had all the same connections as well as the multifunctional cable I needed. However, once I fitted it and placed the airbag back on, the car can't seem to communicate with it. On OBDeleven I get the error U0422 and "invalid data received from body control module".

Any idea what's causing this? Is it that the cable is faulty or is it that simply replacing the harness isn't that simple and the car is tied to the original harness somehow?

I believe you need to have a couple of wires added to the body control module. Have a search in here for it. A member Dilligaf I think has done it and got it working.
