Mk3 Rear seats folding

Featured Replies

Here's a question for the collective group. Octavia VRS mk3 when I fold the rear seats the 40 split flips down and lays flat on the seat base and the 60 split tilts forwards but won't lie flat it will push down flat but not sit flat without weight on it pictures attached. Any ideas why or how to fix

The centre section of the rear seat base stands slightly higher, this is how they all are.

Ah ok I'd seen a couple videos there the 60 seat flips down when you pull the boot release and just lays flat.

Is it the vrs seat shaping that stops this?

Not just the vRS, it's the same on my L&K and my previous Elegance.

Mine lays flat when opened. Looks like it might be catching on the seat belt buckle to me.

Check the buckle, as someone else suggested. My seats don't lay as flat as other cars, but they definitely sit flatter than that - full Alcantara vRS.

Well I've checked nothing propping it up buckle is well clear of the Base. It just hovers at that angle in the first pic till you put weight on it then pops back to that with the weight off. Could it be something in the mechanism?

Make sure you have the rear headrests full pushed down. If they stick out they catch and cause the seats not to push down more fully.

I've found that the seats go further down if the headrests are partially pulled up - fully down they hit on the front of the rear seat base and fully up they can hit on the rear of the front seat.

partially - yes.  I've had many MK3's - some go flat when fully pushed down and some go flat when partially push up.
