HELP! MIB2 GP 6.5" to MIB2.5 9.2" RETROFIT and SOME PROBLEMS

Featured Replies

xHello everyone! A few days ago, I upgraded my SWING 3 screen to a Harman MIB2.5 unit with a 9.2” screen. However, since the unit was originally installed in a Superb with more advanced features than my current car, some features like ACC, Lane Assist, etc., were showing in the menu. When I reset the unit to factory settings through the menu, the “Car” menu disappeared.

I suspected that the entire adaptation map had been erased, and when I checked with VCDS, I found that all features had indeed been removed. I reinstalled my old screen, exported the adaptation map via VCDS, then reinstalled the new unit and manually activated as many features as possible based on the old unit’s settings. For now, I’m not experiencing any issues with the car menu or similar tabs.

However, I am currently facing two problems:

1. Bluetooth Connection: When I try to connect my phone, it pairs successfully, but when I check on my phone, I don’t see any permissions to sync information like quick dials, call history, etc. Occasionally, when I reboot the unit (by holding down the menu button), I can establish a full connection, and I’m able to see information such as contacts, battery status, recent calls, etc. However, most of the time, it gets stuck on the “Phone, starting” screen, as shown in the image below. When I turn off the ignition and turn it back on, the phone does not connect automatically.

2. Canton Soundsystem: The unit has the Canton amplifier parameter, and since my base model car doesn’t have a subwoofer, the sound is disturbingly high-pitched. I need a parameter for a system without the Canton sound system. While researching online, I found a dataset on MIBSolution named MIB2 HARMAN OCTAVIA A7 NO CANTON.xml. However, this dataset seems to be for MIB2 (while mine is 2.5) and has an older version number (mine is 1440).

I’m open to your suggestions and assistance to resolve this issue. Please do your best to help. Below, I’m sharing the adaptation map from my old screen and the current adaptation map from the new unit. Additionally, I’m providing the long coding information from the old screen and the updated long coding information from the new unit.

You should Check with @pab567 and maybe send him your unit for recoding

No need to send the unit for recoding :)

First of all - good job with adaptation maps.

You need to adjust coding, change byte 13 to 88, byte 15 to 00 (unless you installed LTE antennas and phone coupler), byte 22 to 01, byte 24 to 7E

Some adaptations shoul dbe changed as well:

Channel new old Identyczne
IDE10480-MAS10741-Interface for external media: activation-Connection 1 not activated activated FALSE
ENG122227-ENG117666-Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_BCmE not activated activated FALSE

Thank you so much! My Bluetooth issue is fixed. I also flashed a dataset released for the sound problem, and that’s resolved as well! My only issue now is that radio stations don’t automatically fetch radio logos. Only the RDS data is displayed. Even Gracenote works perfectly, but I don’t know what’s wrong with the radio. Even if you can’t help with this, it’s not a big deal. I’m truly grateful.  By the way, the adap. map. related section was selected as 1. “RadioStation Database, 1”

Change channel IDE03471-ENG126993-Vehicle configuration-Station_Logo_DB_Mode to 1

I changed it before, but it only worked at one station. It hasn’t worked again since. I rebooted it multiple times, but it didn’t fix it.

Have you tried changing the radio display settings?

In dabo Sme display modes don't show the radio informations

If it is fm, you will have to upload the logos through your usb drive.

The radio should find most of them then you have to map the ones the radio doesn't find.

You have to store each station once again, this should find the logo in internal DB and save it.
