Just purchased a MK2 2006 Octavia 1.9 TDI, I'm hoping to get the timing belt & water pump changed but I wondered if anyone could recommend a garage that has experience on working with these cars? I am based in South Wales but happy to drive a few hours if needed!

There's not a lot to them, and access to the belt isn't bad at all, so I'd just go with any local independent with a decent reputation. Just make sure they're fitting a decent brand belt kit (Gates, Contitech, Dayco) and ask them to put a genuine VAG water pump on.

I am also in South Wales.  Had my cam belt and water pump done a few years ago at CapitalMOT in Cardiff.   Good price and good job.
