Has my right steering wheel roller stopped working?

Featured Replies

I have a Karoq SE L 72 plate, which I've owned for a couple of months. I've noticed in the last few days that pressing the right roller on the steering wheel, to select different screens in the centre of the digital instrument cluster, has stopped working - or perhaps I'm missing something?

I have the centre of the display set to show consumption. Am I correct that I should be able to press the right roller to enable me to choose from a selection of other 'Driving data' options, e.g. range, overview, etc?

Similarly, when the centre shows the navigation map, I should be able to press the right roller and choose to show directional arrows instead - is that right?

I'm sure this was what I was doing before. But the option seems to have disappeared. Now, nothing happens when I press the right roller.

Could this have something to do with a system/software update? I accepted one of those a few days ago.

I've had this happen twice so far on my Mk3  vRS. restart of satnav (very long press of power-on button until you see restart screen) together with restart of the car (as in key out, then key in/ignition on) have cleared this problem. No errors recorded/readable in VCDS it seems.

Does the roller rotate to let you scroll up and down through the menus?

Yes, the rotate function works fine. It's just that nothing happens when I press the roller.

Thank you, I'll have a go at this and see if it works for me too

You need to press the button directly below the RH scroll button , this brings up options you can scroll through and confirm selection by pressing scroll button.

This worked for me too, thank you. I now have all the options back again. I'd never have known to do that otherwise - thanks for your help.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that wasn't quite the issue - I was able to use that button as normal to select those different options, but wasn't then able to do the next level of selection within those options. All solved now with a reset of infotainment.
