Elroq: Who else has ordered?

Appreciate that Rory but, unfortunately, we don't have a Smart charger. We have a Third Rock Energy mobile charger with a 32A Commando Plug. We have PEN protection and all the goodies for safety and the charger kicks out 7.4kW so I can't really justify changing. I know I'd get an extra hour, but I wont be charging everyday. I think the rate is 1p/kWh cheaper as well, but I'd be a long time recouping £1k for a Smart charger, but thanks for pointing it out

Excuse the naivety, but is this something that you installed yourself/had installed?

I’ve got electrician friends that could potentially install something for me but I was only aware of granny charging as an alternate method of not having a home charge but this seems a bit better alternative!

Hi Dani, I would say a Smart Charger is the best option for most people. The only reason I went the way I did is because our garage is detached from the house by a few metres. It has a good power supply and I already had a 32A Interlocked Isolator installed. The installers I spoke with wanted to install the charger on an outside wall of the house, close to the meter, which I didn't want.

I emailed my local dealer today...no news about a transporter en route yet ..just they are expecting it very soon.

I may just trade in my MG at their dealership..much more convenient ...i could get a bit more with some online places but the timings would need to be spot on etc and i prefer to do everything on one day.

Can't you ask the dealer to register the car TAP if it's at a UK port, to beat the 1st April deadline ?

My edition 85 arrived today at dealers...got a call from Skoda UK to say it arrived at dealers late yesterday but then rang back to say it arrived today..i had asked Skoda UK to help with tracking as app was not tracking order via VIN.

Excellent news.

That's brilliant news TAP. It's been a long time coming. I'm hoping ours is at the dealers. I'll contact them in the morning. Meantime, we've sold our car so could be on the buses for a couple of days.

On that subject, has anyone had experience with Motorway?

No, I used Carwow to sell mine and found it really easy. Better price than part exchange, so I was happy.

Hi TAP, can I just ask how you managed to contact Skoda UK. The only cantact details I can find for them is "no reply" email which, presumably, they don't monitor.

No personal experience but several trusted recommendations - it’s the way I plan to sell mine!

Arranged delivery today for 7th April 🥳

Had a conversation with the dealer today and delivery to them by ECM is scheduled for tomorrow morning. Signed lots of pieces of paper and they now propose handover on Friday 28th. That should miss the DVLA Computer crash on 31st. 🤞

certainly is. Doesn't leave much room for error

Caught the bus to Dumfries this morning. About 60 miles and almost as many stops, in a bus that was hot enough to cook cakes. Had some lunch and then walked to the garage. Rather concerned that I couldn't see a red Elroq, but later found out that their chargers had been off-line all night so our car was plugged into a 175kW rapid charger. Finished the paperwork, had a lengthy hand over and then drove home. Absolutely loved it. Lots of things it'll take me weeks to get the hang of, but loved it anyway.

I question why Skoda shipped a load of Elroqs to the UK for Demo's, none of which were uk spec. The one we tried had DCC which we knew we wouldn't get. It also had the 3 spoke steering wheel with paddles to control the level of regen. I knew I wouldn't get the 3 spoke steering wheel, but you don't get the paddles either.

Re an earlier post when I asked if anyone had experience of Motorway, our Volvo XC40 went on the live auction on Monday. We accepted the best offer, but haven't heard a dickie from the purchaser. Had a message from Motorway this morning to ask if the car had been collected. We said no, so they are going to chase the purchaser. We've heard nothing all day so whether the car will need to go back to a live auction, who knows. If it does, maybe I'll try Carwow next time.

Exciting times @Bowdie! Can you post some pictures? Skoda’s Red is one of my favourite colours but wasn’t available to me on the work scheme unfortunately.

Re: Motorway, I’ve had mixed success. I actually contacted the winning dealer directly when they didn’t arrange collection and they ended up buying the car for slightly more and presumably didn’t pay Motorway any fees

I'll post pictures tomorrow. Meantime, I need to go to bed to recover from the bus trip 😂

I can now see a licence plate number on Tusker, that must mean it's not too much longer right?

I took pictures today on my phone but, unfortunately, I don't know how to get them from my phone onto the forum so, maybe I'll have to retake them using an old fasioned appliance called a camera.

Day 3 now, so I have to try and find fault which is pretty difficult, but, cup holders are pretty rubbish. The ones on our Volvo were bigger and had 4 little spring loaded fingers that would still hold a can securely. In the Elroq, it's just 2 cans. I'm struggling to understand the variable boot floor. It seems that to lower the boot floor, you have to take out the moulded storage gubbins, but that has a slot for the compressor and the bottle of tyre repair gunk, so if you take it out, you need to find a new home for them. I also understood that it had walkaway locking which should, presumably,

lock the car when you walk away from it. Not sure how far you need to walk, but it hasn't worked so far.

So, niggles rather than actual faults and, these aside, cars brilliant

I couldn't find any info on Skoda for walkaway locking, but I did find something on Ford which suggests that it won't work if you leave your phone in the car and the phones loaded with the APP. Take your phone with you and it should work within 8 feet apparrently

Automatic locking when leaving the car

If the vehicle is equipped with this function, it will automatically lock when the key is removed from the car.

The direction indicator lights flash once to confirm that the car is locked.

If the car is not locked, an audible signal will sound twice.

If there are people in the locked car and they open the door from the inside 30 seconds after locking it, the alarm is triggered.

This applies to cars equipped with the SAFE function:

After automatic locking, when the key is removed from the car, the SAFE function is deactivated.

A beep sounds once to confirm that the car is locked and the SAFE function is deactivated.

This is from the Elroq manual

Just heard mine (also ordered via Tusker) is in the country and is 2 weeks away - not clear if that’s from me or the dealer. No reg showing yet though.

I’d love to get delivered before the Easter Weekend and a trip away, but that seems optimistic.

Tusker portal still showing as “released from the factory”

Anyone know rough times from build to delivery. Mine was built last week and last update from dealer yesterday was in transit from the factory

Mine is confirmed for delivery 07/04 through the NHS fleet scheme, leasing company is Volkswagen Group and I’ve officially got a reg showing 🥳

I've got the 85 Edition which is meant to have the walk away locking, but it doesn't seem to do it. Does anyone know if there's a setting to enable this, or should it just work?
