oil filler/rocker box cap

Featured Replies

Skoda Felicia 1.3 1999, cap seems loose, tried to buy a replacement but they all seem to come up to a different design any ideas please where to get the original. Photos show original on left and one i bought and which was supposed to fit on right.

There seems to be various cheap orange ones from China about, various looking quality to them (Vika labelled one looks particularly  poor) how good any are and how long they last I've no idea, being Chinese and cheap perhaps you buy two and if they fit well you have the replacement in stock for when the first needs replacing, perhaps they last well I'd have thought it might depend on how long the seal lasts.  You might need to specific your engine code (number).

Others might know of better supply of these.

I got a Febi labelled version of the one right for my neighbour's 1992 Merc 190E and I can't say I was that impressed with it but it'll probably last a good few years especially if the mech is lubricated very occasionally.

All that crap inside your original oil filler cap doesn't look good, how old is your engine oil and how often does it get changed.

You don't need new cap, just the seal that goes around it - original PN is 047103487

You can still get these from main dealers, I got one 6 months ago, and they are still priced at about £1.

It's condensate, these engines suffer quite bad with it.

I have bought a new one few years back

You can keep the original and buy a new rubber seal from a Skoda dealer or Skoda parts shop.

Just an update for anyone reading in future the OE number above is correct I could get an OE part but bought this which is fine

"VIKA 11030058601 seal ring oil filter, OE 047103487"

Thanks everyone for the help. It is strange that ebay and the dealers all have the wrong part No on their system. I have a similar problem getting a new fuel cap but will start a new thread.

It is common.  Databases are copied so the errors are copied.

All databases from all sources can and very, very often do have errors and omissions even from parts and car manufacturers, possibly more so from the greater use of computers onwards to internet sales the errors have compounded.

And as those that knew the proper correct details have left their jobs for many reasons or have died the information also doe not get corrected.  Soon if not already what is on computers will be correct even when it is not because the correct information was lost or deleted or withheld.

but do they ship to uk

Even if they do the cost would be enormous plus i don't know if you have an extra VAT in your Customs due to Brexit.

In GR when we order from UK we have thus we try to avoid buying from there due to the high total price.

you can source the gasket, and if you want i can ship them to you of course its not worth for just a cap

25 euro is the minimum charge from ELTA (GR Postal Service).

In the UK all Felicia and Favorit (and presumably older models) parts have been omitted from the dealer (ETKA?) parts system, so you have to specify that you are looking for a part for an older skoda, otherwise when asking you simply get told no part exists. Always helps to have correct part number first before contacting them.
