Oil loss and p029900 code

Featured Replies

Got a mk3 Octavia diesel vrs. Been losing oil for a while (prob a litre a week) then went into limp mode a few times and no power. Plugged it into diagnostic machine and it’s error code p029900 over boost pressure adjustment - adjustment limit not reached.

im thinking it’s probably the turbo gone and it’s leaking the oil into the intercooler or the engine. No massive smoke clouds etc and was driving fine before.

anyone had any issues similar ? Been quoted over a grand to supply and fit a new turbo by a local place

Typical symptom of a blown turbo is a "James Bond" smokescreen.

It is mentioned on the Ross-Tech site that is likely that the Turbo might have failed.  Suspect turbo bearings have gone in that case, especially if gone into limp mode and is using oil.

If its not too far gone, you might be able to get it rebuilt or failing that it will be a new turbo.
