some questions??

Featured Replies

Morning all, drove for about 140 miles yesterday.i must say the vRS is a dream to drive. As the car is only a couple of weeks old i was wondering what distance is the "breaking in" period? During the journey an Integra type R was stuck up my **** for about a mile,(what bhp do they have?), eventually i pulled in to let him pass.

I think i read somewhere on this site about pushing the rev needle into the red, am i mistaken? Is this for maximum use from each gear??

Apologies if any of these questions were already asked.

Fogot to say any replies would be gratefully appreciated!

If the car is brand new you dont want to be going near the red line just yet.

Follow the advice in this thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/new-octavia/running/56759/?highlight=running and you cant really go wrong.

Integra Type R's have around 200bhp but not as much torque as your Octavia. A remapped MK1 Octavia Elegance will be a good match for a standard ITR in a straight line drag.

Thanks a lot for that.

I recommend following the advice in the Owner's Manual. :)

Apart from Skodas I've also got an interest in modded Japs (first Lottery win car is a Skyline R34 GTR). An Integra Type R probably starts at about 200bhp, running up to maybe 250 (presuming no turbo conversion, and not a race spec engine; the Team Dynamics cars make more like 300bhp, but need rebuilding every 1000 miles or so), but even than it'll not have as much torque as a standard Octy vRS or PD130 or better.
