vRS to go diesel all the way?

Featured Replies

But the smell of petrol is muuch more satisfying!!! :scrambles

And if you go around deliberately inhaling chemicals of any description you deserve all you get :p

Incidentally, theres a NASA report out today which states that soot (including that from diesel engines) plays a larger part in Global Warming than had been previously thought....

You just can't win can you ?? :rofl:

No doubt they'd find something wrong with a water powered car if they looked hard enough :rolleyes:

Personally I think that diesel is the way that Skoda will go as it makes sense for VAG. I am not a massive fan and would probably not buy a diesel Octy RS even though it makes sense on most performance and economy terms. My reasons would be that:

1) Diesel engines are heavier;

2) Diesel is messy - hate getting it on hands, clothes etc; and

3) Diesels don't rev freely like petrol engines - i still can't get used to having too change gears so rapidly without feeling like it is revving properly.

But with a DSG box?

But with a DSG box?

Is it any good? - i've never driven one but anything that looks like an auto gearbox to me tends to put me off - particularly in anything that is deemed a "sporty" car.
