Looking at buying a Octavia estate 4x4 1.6 TDI .  

Now I have owned a normal Octavia before and that was fine , but I tow a caravan and looking at low running costs for work daily commute etc, but something that could get me out of a slippery field lol.  Now I did have a Tiguan 4 motion and that was superb wish I had not sold it really.  What I want to know is ,,, is the 4wd system the same for both Tiguan 4 motion 2013 and Octavia 4x4 2015 ? I would have thought they would use the same system. 

VW mostly Haldex. Audi mostly Torsion.

Still needs appropriate tyres be it FWD or Part Time AWD to get out of slippery fields. 

 

Haldex Servicing every 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner.  Probably best at 20,000 miles. 

Yes looking at the history it's had oil change and damper around a year ago ,so hopefully all good. And yes I'm pretty certain it's the same as VW .
