Change Units in virtual dash

Featured Replies

Hi,

I hope someone can help me. We have gone into continental Europe and I wanted to change the units from miles and MPG to kilometers and L/Km.

I am sure I have done this once before because we did take the SIII abroad.

I cannot not remember but there is no clue in any of the menue buttons in the headunit.

I have looked in car and setup, but no unit settings.

I only hope I have not coded this out by mistake, but have never intentally changed anything around unts.

This is definitely possible because I remember having 10 minutes in the Eurotunnel trying to find this option before arriving in the UK.

I'll try to have a fiddle in the morning to see if I can find it again...

If I recall there's a while section for units where you can change speed, consumption, temperature, pressure etc

Go to 'vehicle' 'settings' 'units' and then you have a drop down menu.

I do this often, even on the go, I like to measure in km/l, but all my friends here reason in l/100km, and of course when I have to disclose to you my exploits in fuel consumption, I switch to MPG UK ... 🤪

I do not have "Units" as a subcategory.

I had a look through my adaptation maps of STG 09, 17 and 5F as I thought these might be relevant for the Units.

I can see a section inthe dashboard that describes all the customer set ones, but no sectio that make "Units" appear in the settings section.

Can you revert the changes you've made back to how they were delivered from the factory?

"Units" must be available on all European cars & especially a car sold in the UK..

On my car is in the same place Leolite:

Home->Vehicle->Settings->Units

I have not changed anything intentionally. I do not know which controller this comes under either.

I have also changed to German language but no change.

Post a photo of your settings menu, if you can 😉

Hi,

These are pictures of the vehicle settings and instrument cluster settings.

Mine is as your, there is an "units" and I can change there the things that are displayed in the dashboard ....

Sorry DIPP ... can it be that different infotainment devices have different setting options? That would be stupid, but .... not suprinsing, nowadays 🙄

There's must be a way to do this even on different levels of infotainment unit.

Does you virtual cluster display only mph or is there already kph overlayed on it?

Hi Gabbo,

I cannot get the car to display Km/h or change to l/100km for consumption in continental Europe.

When I look at the, I think, adaptations in STG 17 adaptation map, I see all the units displayed and I could change them over with VCP or ODIS, BUT not through the centre display. I cannot see any setting in the adaptations where it allows for "BAP" setting or anything else to set personalisation.

I will connect ODIS and play around. I just did not have the time.

I am wondering whether a Skoda update has deleted the display in the centre.....

My car is only 12 months old and had the latest OTA update for the infotainment.

Id be surprised if they took this away as it's quite important particularly for cars sold in the UK to be able to display kph

Maybe try posting in the general VCDS forum to see if anyone knows if a setting to enable this option that you could change ?

I have got units back in the display. It was due to "menu_display_central_unit_master" not being activated. Thinking back I did not deactivate it but I did have a mishap last year in 5F when I hit the reset button. Some functions normalized after ignition off, but others did not. It also did not show up on the Autoscan as it is all in the Adaptations.

menu_display_central_unit_master_after_disclaimer: not_activated
menu_display_central_unit_master_standstill: not_activated
menu_display_central_unit_master_over_threshold_high: not_activated -> activated
menu_display_central_unit_master_clamp_15_off: not_activated
menu_display_central_unit_master:

not_activated -> activated

I am wondering if there are any more adaptations that I did not correct in 5F. Could anyone post or PM me an admap of a MIB3 Superb possibly in L&K trim.

I can try to do that, if somebody tells me how, sometime after Wed when I am again around the car.

If you have ODIS or VCDS you can do Adaptation maps. I do not know a way in VCP.

I put a couple of guides for VCDS. VCDS records in CSV, ODIS in HTML.

20343

In ODIS on the start page you go into 046 - special vehicle functions and after opening it tick coding and/or adaptations. This will record a HTML file with the cars settings.
