Clutch pedal is messing around with me

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Is there any one with knowledge or experience of this kind of problems?

The clutch has been sticking slightly when starting to drive, but after 2-3 pushes it's all good.

Then this suddenly happen today.

The clutch has been making some slight squeaking noises when pushed.
Similar to plastic or nylon rubbing together without lubrication.

It may be that this is not part of the problem.

The clutch oil was changed. The filter was medium dirty.

But this did not change anything. (this was before the pedal stop working at all)

Thank you :-)

Looks like failed slave or master cylinder to me. Or loss of fluid.

Can you check the fluid level?

It looks like the slave or master cylinder piston is staying in the pressed in state.

Could be a failed clutch thrust bearing too. That may have been the squeal you heared when pressing the clutch before.

Does the clutch actually work? Eg what happens when you put it into gear?

Do this carefully as it may grind or jump forward a bit

There is no filter on the clutch hydraulics, you have a concentric slave cylinder that is drawing in air.

Normal pedal action should return for a short while after bleeding, you say the clutch oil  has been changed, the clutch hydraulics use the brake fluid reservoir, do you mean this? Was the system bled correctly afterwards?
