Just a thought - the Brake pad sensor is on the nearside front only so could it be something to do with that?

Are there any part numbers or are they on the bits that are missing . Cant remember seeing anything like that on my 08 1.9tdi so maybe something to do with 4x4?

Update

It is located further forward. Near the bumper.

Outside temperature sensor going by the location although the ones I've seen dont look like that.

What is the thing in the backgroung out of focus in the first photo, is it the other part of this thing?

What makes you think that it is a sensor?

You may have to try and trace back wiring to see where it goes to. Will have a look on mine tomorrow if I can. Will be servicing my mk2 12 plate hopefully tomorrrow so while the undertray is off will have a look to see whats fitted in that area

Would it be something to do with cornering lights if its using the same cable channel as the fog lights and  Are the wires the same colour if you trace back. I am seeing red or brown, white and blue from your picture.

Had a look in my haynes but it doesnt cover the cornering wiring.

There will not be additional or seperate wiring for the cornering lamp function, the body control module simply switches the relevant foglamp on and off as required.

Might be worth asking the mechanics at your local skoda dealer. They may have come accross it before. Doubt the parts department would be able to help unless they sold one.I had a check on my o8 plate but can't see anything like it.  Just wondering if its an aftermarket part or a non skoda addition. My old mechanics had a hydrogen cell in his dads that was in front of rad. Something to do with cleaner burning and better MPG. Never seen one before.

Let us know if you find out. Its got me stumped but I would love to know what it is.

Not exactly. The brake pad sensor is part of the brake pad. It is as simple as a wire the runs in and out of the brake pad that once broken lights the dashboard warning light.

@Nicku196 Can you see a circuit board where the component has snapped? From what I can tell there would have been 8 screws originally. But it appears the wiring enters and exits at the same point. Maybe If you can access the circuit board that may give some identification.

I had a look at the manual for a Scout MK2 but can't see anything for the bumper that resembles that part.
