Just had a new rear wiper motor and it's intermittent. I could have swore it was on permanent before the new motor. Am I misremembering 

Mine is intermittent.

Same here, only runs continuously while the rear washer is active (and a few seconds after).

Usually a sign that the wiper motor is struggling.  Generally (and in normal operation), the rear wiper is intermittent (about once every 5-10 seconds).  However, its is only going once, and occassionally sticking is one position, then its a wiper motor failing (I think it means that the bushings are dry and are getting tight and the motor stalls).

You can take the motor apart, apply lots of grease to the bearings etc.  That would recover operation.
