I drove my car a short distance this morned and when I got back in, a short while after turning the ignition on an alarm sounded from the central console area. It stays on for a little while after the ignition has been turned off. It sounds like a burglar alarm but is too quiet to scare anyone off. I have never had this happen before.

 

There are no other warning lights to suggest what the cause is. Can anyone advise?

Are you sure it's not just the warning that you have left the car with the ignition still on?

 

It's quite easy to trigger this if Stop start causes the engine to stop when you get to your destination & just open the door?
